Person-Action-Object System

This is a mnemonic device used for number memorization. It has two steps. First, use a system to convert didgits into letters and letter combos into keywork; second, come up with a person, an action, and an object for each combo.

I use a 2-digit pao, which is much more acheiveable than a 3-digit pao, and vastly more useful than a 1-digit. This means that this system can turn a 6 digit string of numbers into one memorable image containing a person doing an action to a thing. In this way, long strings of numbers can be converted into memorable images.

Because I made this system for myself to use, I decided on the imaged and words based on the most obvious/memorable/immediate things I could think of. It is only useful to you so much as it is an example; you are encouraged to create your own system that makes the most sense for your own brain.

Major System

The Major System turns each number into a letter sound, and the keywords are built using these sounds. So the number 24 for me is encoded into 't' and 'r', which then becomes the word "ToweR". The major system is one common system, and the other common system is the Dominic System which uses letters as first initials of names instead of sounds in words.

PAO List

This is the list of keywords and images I use. I first memorized the keyword for each two digit pair. Then I extrapolated the images based on that keyword. For some images, there were obvious images based on the words, for others maybe one image was obvious, and the other images were derived from the first word. For example 08 is SuB, which became a submarine. I was able to easily pull out the action swim, but then my brain for some reason immediately saw Elaine from Seinfeld swimming and thats the person that stuck. Again, this is my system, I used imaged and characters that are familiar and memorable to me. You should use workd and images that make the most sense to you.

Final Note, I actually do this in person-object-action order because that makes more sense to me.
